Tekle holds a Ph.D. in International Trade and an MBA in Industrial and Business Management. He has nearly 20 years of domestic and international business experiences.

Tekle provides face-to-face export/import management training to businesses and entrepreneurs at the Bay Area World Trade Center in California. He teaches an online course in Import/Export Trade Operation at the University of California at Berkeley, Extension Online, as well as International Business courses for Strayer University, the University of Phoenix and Colorado Technical University Online.

Among his recent participation includes a Master Class workshop "Successful Growth Strategies by Effective Identification of Company Readiness and Best Approaches to Export Marketing" at the Asian Commercial Shipping Summit 2006, organized by the International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC) in Singapore and during eBay Live! 2006 convention in Las Vegas conducted "Importing 101 for Small and Medium Enterprise (SME)" workshop organized by Alibaba.com.

As a consultant he has helped his clients define objectives assess importing/exporting operations and profit growth opportunities, devised plans based on findings of analytical studies. He has cultivated relationships with buyers and negotiated import/export agreements. For his clients he has conducted extensive market research to determine viability of new business venture.

He has also offered executive leadership and successfully navigated international business challenges. He provided expertise and consultative services focused on sales and marketing strategies to elevate revenues for global businesses.

In addition to his consulting business, he provides practical trade insights and timely expert advice using articles and live sessions in crucial import/export issues for Alibaba.com’s Resources Channel. Tekle’s academic credentials and professional experience provide a solid foundation for practical information discerning international traders can use.

His previous international business and marketing experiences include consulting for BAYTRADE, an export promotion organization, and for the Small Business Development Center/Center for International Trade and Development. He has also taught at Georgetown University School of Continuing Education, the University of California at Santa Cruz Extension and other colleges in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area, California. He has conducted live training for entrepreneurs using satellite broadcast for the African Virtual University (AVU), a World Bank spin-off.
