Career Background:
? Over fifteen years of a productive Academic career as a cancer research scientist and lecturer in Medical research at leading universities ? including Tel Aviv University, Weizmann Institute of Science, Hebrew University and NYU Medical Center (NY, USA).
? During the past eighteen years, I have carried out a number of top executive positions, among them - Deputy Managing Director (1987 -1990) of Yeda Ltd., the commercial arm of the Weizmann Institute of Science (WI). In this capacity, I was responsible in identifying innovative applicable research as well as commercial exploitation of R&D and novel technologies developed by WI scientists, among others, by way of licensing and technology transfer.
? Served as a special Consultant to the Director General of the Ministry of Science and Technology, responsible for reviewing and evaluation of the applicability of certain research projects funded in collaboration with the European Community.
? In 1990 served as the general manager of Agrilab Ltd.. I have managed this biotech company to the point that there was a plant virus diagnostic product and an active diagnostic services laboratory with increasing sales. An Israeli company in the diagnostic field acquired Agrilab.
? In 1991 I founded Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation Systems - NESS Ltd. - a company that has develop a unique medical device ? the Handmaster ? that restores function to the upper extremities of quadriplegics and hemiplegics. I managed this company since its inception throughout the long journey of financing ? private investors and a VC, including a private Placement in the United States - product development, clinical trials and obtaining FDA and CE Approval, patents, governmental grants and Approved Enterprise status ? including government guaranteed loans - as well as setting up a considerable marketing network in Europe and the US for the Handmaster. At that point the company employed close to 40 employees. In 1998 I sold my shares.
? In 1997, I joined Repromedix Inc., a US company in the field of reproduction and infertility, providing advanced diagnostic services working closely with infertility treatment and IVF clinics. I served as the Chairman of the Board and have contributed mainly to its strategic planning. This successful and profitable company is now in the process of expanding its operation.
? In 1998 I co-founded, together with 3 young engineers, Be-4 Ltd. - now a successful company, operational since 1999, involved in the field of 3-D Audio solutions for the wireless and mobile entertainment space. I served as its Chairman and CEO since its inception until 2002. I served as its Chairman of the Board of Directors during 1997-2005.
? During 1999-2001 I served as a special consultant to the R&D Authority at University of Haifa for the promotion and commercial exploitation of a number of applicable research projects carried out at the Institute of Evolution.
? As of 2003 I am a member of the Israel Bar. I specialize, inter alia, in Corporate Law, Hi-Tech transactions, Investments, Licensing, R&D and consultancy Agreements and such other related commercial issues, such as distribution and marketing, employment agreements etc.
Other activities
? As of 1997 a Faculty Member at Israel Enterprise Management and Innovation School (ISEMI) ? An extension of Swinborne University (Australia) - Lecturing on Innovation and Business Opportunity Evaluation.
? During the year 2002 I was a Board member of The Adam Institute for Democracy and Peace ?In Memory of Emil Greenzweig (A non for profit organization).
