John B. - Keynote Motivational Speaker
This Facilitator?s work as a patient behaviour consultant over the last 10 years has put him at the forefront of collating best practices in patient relations in the UK and throughout Europe. Integral to his on-going research, he annually interviews hundreds of practitioners, engages in action research, and analyses the factors that drive or impede patient co-operation and responsiveness for high-level clients.
His dedication and growing expertise has led him to conduct primary research into patient behaviour such as smoking cessation, non-compliance, and clinic attendance failure. He helps medical professionals peel back the layers of individual behaviour to discover effective strategies for engaging patients in prevention and treatment. And, for the practitioner, he reveals how modifications to their language, behaviour and style of response can significantly enhance patient-practitioner interaction. For instance, his research and work on smoking cessation revealed how medical practitioners can unwittingly undermine patient resolve or collude with addictive thinking.
His prominence in this field has been recognised and rewarded by invitations to participate in corporate and public sector initiatives. Recently he was invited by GlaxoSmithKline to sit on a steering group looking at patient expectations in relation to asthma. He was involved in news breaking research into the attitudes of asthma sufferers. The 1000 strong survey indicated that asthma sufferers were missing out on proper treatment because they thought there was no point in going to their doctor. The results were published in the International Journal of Clinical Practice (4.3.2002).
His consultancy work regularly takes him into the primary care sector working within medical practices, to foster and develop integrated health care teams.
In the past few years, this facilitator has emerged as a rising star of conference and symposia platforms. Medical conference organisers, TTA International voted him 'Best UK Healthcare Conference Speaker of the Year' and in a relatively short time he has gained an impressive portfolio of speaking clients.
As a Master of Education his presentation methods are based on sound, person-centered learning. His continuing success relies on his reputation, which is linked to the outstanding, positive feedback companies constantly receive from their delegates.

Testimonials
Read for yourself why he is one of the most frequently rebooked and recommended conference speakers
Once again we would like to thank you for lively contribution to the Edinburgh meeting. We are absolutely delighted at the success. Again feedback from the diabetes specialist nurses has been extremely positive. The statistics show 100% of the delegates rated his presentation as Very Good or Excellent.
Nicola Brett, Professional Relations Manager, Novo Nordisk Limited
Delivering education and entertainment time and again?
He has delivered our highly successful communication skills program for a number of years. He is both an educator and entertainer, and as a result ensures that our delegates learn whilst having a fun experience. For me, there can be no better way to learn.
He is a true professional that has special something which constantly attracts high delegate evaluation scores and comments such as Brilliant. More of the same please.
Keith A. Haynes, MPS Risk Consulting Ltd
Year on year consistent delivery?
Many thanks for your contribution to the successful year TTA has had in organising clients' events. 2001/2 was another exceptional year and guess who topped the scores in our delegate evaluation questionnaires? - Yes, Mr. J He. Well done He this is the fourth year running and not once did your scores fall below 4.7 out of 5 for content or 4.8 for presentation.
One would expect an expert in communication to present well but you go one step further, you also ENTERTAIN. As important to us is the fact that our clients ask for more - long may it last. Here's to an equally successful 2002/3.
Paul Turner, M.D, TTA International. (Conference Organisers) continued
I have worked with He for 5 years and each year he has modified his presentation to meet the changing needs of the business. He always gives customers (delegates) something to think about whilst making them laugh - a powerful combination. He has several off the peg talks but will gladly spend time to do a tailor made presentation. He always scores great feedback and is an asset to producing quality symposia.
Dr TAJ Harris, Professional Relations Manager, GlaxoSmithKline, Uxbridge, Middlesex. United Kingdom
Delivering Learning Value?
He comes from outside the health service to offer us searing insights. He is entertaining, interesting, challenging and genuinely informative. General practitioners, especially those in leadership roles, cannot fail to benefit from a session with He.
Professor Mike Pringle, then Chairman of Council, Royal College of General Practitioners, UK.
?As Project Officer responsible for delivering the 'Continuing Professional Development' (CPD) programme for primary care staff ?including General Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Community Nurses and Health Visitors, General Practice Managers, Admin and Clerical staff from general practice and within the PCT.. I organise a monthly event, which attracts on average between 80-100 delegates. He has spoken on several occasions, giving talks on 'why people don't listen', ?zero tolerance?, ?time management? and is due to talk to our GPs and nurses in November.
His presentations have always received excellent evaluations and his presentations have been effective motivators for staff.
The PCT's Chief Executive remarked that he had never laughed so much whilst learning from an interesting, informative and entertaining speaker - which of course was He. I have no hesitation in recommending He as a Conference Speaker.?
Jan Dennis Projects Officer, Ashfield Primary Care Trust

It was another great success where you engaged our customers in a really
practical & fun day. They took so much away from the day that two of the nurses have now chaired meetings for us and that is testament to the confidence you instilled in them. The excellent level of professionalism you have shown is consistent and not to be undervalued and is in particular hugely appreciated by myself.
As I am responsible for the organisation of these meeting I have to depend on the right person to do the right job and you have always been spot on!!
Carolyn O'Neil, GlaxoSmithKline
Rebooked and Requested ?
"I have used He on many occasions when organising large PR events. He
regularly obtains the highest feedback scores of all the speakers, and is a superb complement to what is generally a large clinical programme.
My customers now ask for He by name! Although I sometimes ask He to repeat a topic he has previously covered, he always manages to repackage it freshly, so people who have attended the lectures before, still get something new.
He always figures in my thinking when planning future events.?
Andy Smith, Senior Area Sales Manager, GlaxoSmithKline
Each year the Postgraduate Centre at Charing Cross Hospital runs a high profile national course for General Practitioners. We usually have 80 participants and He has been a regular and very popular speaker at this course. His talks cover various behavioural signs, which make them relevant to General Practice and are delivered in a very amusing and entertaining way. Many participants request that we invite him back to speak again and so he has become a regular feature on our course.
